Dear Friend,

As we move into a new chapter at Freedom for Immigrants (FFI), I am excited to share with you our bold vision for the future. This year’s theme is *Freedom for Immigrants, Until Everyone is Free: Move with the Movement*, and I want to personally invite you to be a key part of this transformative work.

This past year, we stepped back to reflect and restructure. We emerged from this period of deep reflection with both a visionary Theory of Change* and a detailed Strategic Plan. These guiding documents were born out of deep conversations and the personal, lived experiences of directly impacted individuals, and they now serve as the foundation for our work moving forward.

At FFI, we believe in following the leadership of currently and formerly incarcerated immigrants. They are at the heart of our movement, and they are the true experts in this struggle. Having lived through the realities of being caged, and having worked alongside countless others who have similarly been criminalized, I’m excited to bring my community’s expertise to the forefront. I’m proud to share that it is these experiences and unique perspectives that form the core of our new vision.

And we’ll take an intersectional approach to building power with and investing in the leadership of incarcerated Black and Brown organizers. We know immigration detention is an outgrowth of mass incarceration, and as someone who’s been incarcerated by both the prison system and ICE, I know in my heart we’ll need to tackle these systems as one in order to reach true collective freedom.
We have exciting plans to organize alongside detained leaders, to build power, and disrupt the immigration detention system from within. With this focus, we are excited to launch new programs like:

A dedicated organizing team: This team will train and support leaders who are currently detained, helping them organize and build collective power.

The revitalization of IMMPrint: IMMPrint will be a publication run by and for directly impacted people, serving as a participatory platform to amplify their voices and bolster organizing efforts through storytelling and art.

We are asking you to join us in this movement. With your support, we can raise $500,000 to fully implement our new vision and bring these initiatives to life. Your contributions will help fund critical programs that empower and resource directly impacted people, strengthen our political? advocacy, and ensure that we continue to build an organization that is resilient, adaptable, and truly led by those most affected by immigration detention.

This moment is pivotal, and your partnership will make the difference in bringing our vision to reality. Will you *move with the movement* and stand with us as we fight for a world where all people are free?

Thank you for your commitment and for believing in a future where we are all free.

In solidarity,

Laura Hernandez
